The original 45NRTH Fat Bike tire which saved us from the Endo/Larry now gets an update with a focus on hard pack dirt. Originally the Husker Du was welcome traction we had been missing from other available tires but since has been trumped by many other larger lugged and studded tires. The Husker Du now sits as the fastest and lightest tire in the 45nrth arsenal. This updated version adds a tubeless ready bead and more aggressive shoulder knobs for ultimate dirt trail ripping. This new model may be slated for Fall 16′ delivery but we’re hoping it arrives a bit sooner. If not many riders will still see this as an excellent year round option if you want a fast fat tire for trails with limited snowfall and soft snow conditions.
TUBELESS-READY FATBIKE TIRE
TPI: 120 – 60 (folding)
• Fastest rolling fatbike tire

rolling speed (ideal for hard-pack) while getting
improved maneuverability and edge control with
updated shoulder knobs
• Open spaced low profile center tread profile
rolls fast with minimal rolling resistance
• Taller shoulder knobs give added bite when
steering and in corners
• Overall reduced lug count keeps the Husker
Du light and nimble and with added tubeless
compatibility, this tire is sure to be a top choice
for hard-pack rippers.
A large flat edge on the bottom of the bead results in more surface area contact with the shelf of the rim. This increased surface area creates a more effective and secure seal for tubeless set ups. The surface of the entire bead is also smooth, reducing the number of small gaps that allow air to leak between the bead and rim shelf. Running your fatbike without tubes can reduce the weight of each wheel by 300 grams and provide a suppler ride quality. Always consult rim manufacturer instructions before setting up tubeless tires to ensure safety and compatibility.
